Sometimes life can feel as though you are trudging up a steep, rocky mountain carrying baggage so heavy it’s crippling. Just when you think you can’t go one more step, you yell out to a nearby climber, “Can you help me carry this load? I just can’t do it by myself anymore.”
As a counselor, I’d like to come alongside you as that “companion climber.” Together, we can take stock of the journey you’ve made so far, the terrain you are standing on right now, and what you might find as we continue the climb.
I count it an honor to be invited to journey beside you. I believe healing can occur when a person feels heard, validated and unjudged by a compassionate listener. I work from an experiential, client centered framework, using psychodynamic and emotion focused therapies, with an attachment perspective. At times, I call upon cognitive-behavioral interventions when necessary. I also use trauma-focused treatments for those who have survived scary or confusing life events, and play therapy when appropriate.
I work under the supervision of Beth Russell, LCPC, LPC. I appreciate working with a wide range of ages, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds. My slide scale fee is based on income.
